It is very special. This is the first old-style cafe I met in Auckland. The girl who worked in the front had a big smile and took care of us very well. I am not sure about the menus and she even got the chef to come out and explained the details to me. My friend Yuki Akshay’s mother was an old friend of this cafe and she said the food quality has been increased a lot since this cafe is reopened several weeks ago. I like their sandwiches, very fresh and delicious. Most importantly, I like to sit in the soft armchair lazily, listening to the blue music while having had a hot flat white in my hand. It was raining heavily outside, but I knew I was warm and safe in the cafe, just like a daydream. I am quite curious how it will feel like in summer.
Really friendly helpful staff. Excellent place with great choices of food either from the menu or in the cabinet. Indoor/ outdoor seating. Flavorsome coffee, prices very reasonable. Food is always amazing and has good options for vegetarians as well as vegans. Can see why people like the place and regularly return. Highly recommend, love them!
Had a fairly disappointing experience one of the weekends recently. Coffee was alright as the beans have not changed. But man the food was so bad since the new ownership and chef. The lady who served us had no idea, she didn't even know there is a kid's menu. Ordered the spaghetti, salmon omlet, and the kids fish fingers. Spaghetti was dry, spicy but blend as there is 6 shrimps and spaghetti, no side salad, no source or any dressing. When salmon omlet was served, there is no salmon! And there is no butter for the toastie. Asked the lady and she asked the chef and he forgot! Waited for another 10 mins to get the salmon and still no butter... Turns out they did not have fish fingers but chicken nuggets which is not even on their menu.... The food is overpriced as we paid $23 for the omlet, $20 +for the spaghetti.
