I had fried lamb livers & bacon with rich mushroom sauce & my wife had a corn cake breakfast stack with poached egg & avocado for lunch. Taste of my dish was great; livers were over-cooked though - probably bought frozen & had to be cooked thoroughly. The tropical trifle cheese cake was lovely with hot coffees. Great set up and design, awesome renovation. The food was better then expected. First time here, have been to the taupo one before too, but I much more prefer this one. Environment: 5/5 Food Quality: 4/5 Food Quantity: 5/5 Service: 3.5/5 Price: $40-$50pp
Top 3 things : 1. Awesome service 2. Amazing melt in your mouth ribs 3. Pork hock!! Seriously! To die for! So we went to Dixie Browns for dinner as a group of 7, we ordered 2 starters to share; the prawn and the ribs.. and I decided on the pork hock for the main. I was not disappointed! The pork was just perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, and it was tender and juicy inside. The mash potatoes that came with it was so creamy! And i love the fact that they didn't smother it in sauce. I really appreciate that they actually put the sauce in a separate container. A couple of our friends were gluten and lactose intolerant, they were very accomodating and they took time to make sure that everyone was happy. Actually I am still thinking about that pork hock... will i go back? Yes definitely!! For pork hock!!
