Heard great things so did the drive from up north to eat here. The smashed avo was so bad. The avocado was not fresh, it was that pre-made stuff you keep in the refrigerator and expect on a cheap subway sandwich. It was ice cold and tasted like preservatives and food chemicals. The worst smashed avo I’ve ever had. Gutted. Will not be coming back. $15.50 for cheap fake avo is not okay, what a rip off.
Heard great things so thought I would try. Disappointing, I purchased "the mexican" along with an iced chocolate. From the bottom up my smashed avo was hot from putting warm protein on top, the portion of protein for the price was very minimal and dry in turn also wilted the greens on top. I thought I would try and add some citrus from the lemon wedge served with the dish, however that was completely dried out and broke apart. My iced choc served with cream. Looked really good at first appearance. The cream was served curdled and is not appealing when the protein in the cream os seperated and sticks to your ice. My partner ordered the eggs bene. Both eggs were over done and the rosti burnt. Overall experience was disappointing and underwhelming. Staff could see i had not touched my meal and did not come to see if anything was wrong.
I was amazed and seriously impressed at the food at this place. It was fresh, flavourful, well cooked and presented. I had the Mexican and loved how the flavours in that dish were in the right proportions. Other people at my table all also enjoyed their meal. Only issue was meals could of been bigger, but this may be a reflection that you can always eat more good food. They also had some of the quickest service I have ever seen, despite it being peak brunch period. Literally had our coffee in two minutes and our food in less than ten. Staff were intuitive and efficient.
