Nice place to go to hang out with the group, but the food doesn’t really stand out and is a bit expensive. Still an enjoyable place and an extensive menu to choose from

I have been to Daikoku Botany on multiple occasions. The staff are normally pleasant.  The Shoyu Tonkotsu ramen is nice enough, the noodles are a good consistency and the portions are decent... The Miso ramen is a bit lackluster, there isn't really much flavour. The Japanese curry is not the best in Auckland but yummy and really big portion sizes, especially when you upgrade to the large size (I halfed it and had enough for lunch the next day).  Also recently had Teppan-Yaki, our chef was cheeky and entertained our whole group all night! The food was once again OK - wasn't hugely flavourful, good portions but definitely worth it because of our hilarious chef. One thing I absolutely LOVE at Daikoku is the little side salad sauce! I can't figure out what it is - maybe onion and ginger mix?Overall: Staff 3.5/5 Shoyu Ramen 3.5/5Miso Ramen 2/5Japanese Curry 4/5Teppan-Yaki 3.5/5 Teppan-Yaki Chef 5/5Portion Sizes 4.5/5 3.71/5 rounded up to a 4 Star
