I was gifted two birthday cakes from here, very lucky and thankful! I am not typically a fan of Black Forest cakes as they can be very heavy on the cherry liqueur however I really enjoyed the Black Forest here. Light and fluffy chocolate sponge paired very well with the layers of cream, cherries and chocolate. This cake has converted me to be a lover of Black Forest cake b only from this store. Next cake was the mango mousse cake, I must say the flavour combination here is beautiful! The bottom layer is a chocolate cornflake layer with mango mousse and vanilla sponge cake. Unique and delicious, loved this cake. Presentation of both cakes are a foodgasm for the eyes 🥰 really well done team Birthday Everyday! I am very please more cake stores are opening that are steering away from the typical heavy and rich statue of cakes. Highly recommend and will drive out to Takapuna to order cakes!
Stumbled across this beautiful cakery when we were looking for dessert, amazing selection of cabinet cakes that are well-sized. We got the Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake and the Mini Rabbit Gateau! • Dark Chocolate (10/10) thought it would be quite heavy but it was light and refreshing while still having strong chocolate flavours coming through! It almost resembled a “fluffy Snickers Bar” with layers of mousse, caramel and chocolate sponge that balanced each other out perfectly without being overly sweet! Beautifully presented as well! • Mini Rabbit (10/10) yes it’s edible! The rabbit is made of a mix between butter cream and ice cream, as it’s dense yet creamy and cold! The cake part consists of cream on the outside with vanilla sponge and layers of fresh fruit! The bittersweetness of the matcha “grass” balanced the creaminess out and it was a very refreshing dessert to have! I would definitely come back to try their other selections!
As per the name, the food in the cabinet looked so pretty and made me feel so happy. I went with my toddler boy who was quite loud and excited too, but the staff were super friendly. Desserts were as good as they looked and I even got a choc croissant to go which was amazing. Their drip coffee was really good and I love how you can get a refill though I was watching the caffeine. I was a bit guttered that they did not sell espresso coffees and my toddler was especially sad that he couldnt get a fluffy, but then soon overcame the sadness when he got the cake with a macaroon to share. The water glasses were pretty too. I like the cake boxes and even their takeaway plastic wraps for the croissant. Think it would make great gifts so will be back.
