Part 1 – Championship Finals
Presenting the Finalists of the tango championship for categories of Salon/ Tango de Pista and Stage/ Escenario Tango. Only one couple from each category will win. The judges are our visiting tango masters. It all hangs on their decision.
Who will go forward to represent the Oceania region in Buenos Aires in the World Tango Dance Championship? Which country would they be from? Come and see this exciting moment when all is revealed!
Part 2 - Tango Rojo Show
Direct from Argentina! Tango Rojo is a spectacular Argentinian tango show. Featuring Tango Bardo quartet with the amazing singer Roberto Minondi and accompanied by tango dance masters from Argentina, regarded as among the world’s finest tango teachers and performers.
This will be a night to remember!

Arrive early and explore the surrounding Aotea Arts Quarter. Aotea Square, The Civic, Aotea Centre and Q Theatre are all within a few minutes’ walk, with plenty of nearby dining options before or after a show.
Getting there

Auckland Town Hall sits on Queen Street opposite Aotea Square. Te Waihorotiu Station is around a 2-minute walk away, while Waitematā Station and the ferry terminal are around a 17–20 minute walk down Queen Street. Frequent bus services stop nearby, and The Civic Car Park provides convenient parking close to the venue.
