Waitematā Station

Waitematā Train Station is the central hub of Auckland’s rail network, connecting the city to the wider Tāmaki Makaurau region with speed and ease. From 13 September 2026, Waitematā Station will become a two-way through-station, making it easier to travel across Auckland by train. New connections through the city centre will link Waitematā with Te Waihorotiu, Karanga-a-Hape and Maungawhau stations, opening up more of central Auckland and making journeys across the city faster and more convenient.

The station services several key lines, such as the Eastern Line, Western Line, Southern Line, and Onehunga Line, providing frequent connections throughout the day. Whether you’re heading to the heart of Auckland, venturing south to enjoy regional attractions, or commuting across the city, Waitematā Station ensures smooth, reliable travel. With convenient links to buses and ferries, it also acts as a gateway to the wider transport network, making transitions between modes effortless.
