Catherine Chidgey recently caused an international bidding war among publishers for her major new novel, The Book of Guilt. The two-time Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction winner features in this exclusive first event for The Book of Guilt – a work of dystopian fiction set in a sinister version of 1970s England that the winning international publisher deemed “one of the most memorable and haunting reading experiences” of his reading life.

Local tip He tīwhiri mō te rohe
Check out the sculpture of celebrated Kiwi opera singer Dame Kiri Te Kanawa which sits on Level 3 of the Aotea Centre. It was created by local artist Terry Stringer and unveiled by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa herself when the auditorium was named in her honour in 2019.
