Auckland to welcome 4,000 Student Athletes for Secondary School Sport Tournament Week

One of Aotearoa’s premier youth sporting events is returning to Tāmaki Makaurau with around 4,000 secondary school students set to descend on the city to compete in ten different sporting codes.

Secondary School Sport Auckland Tournament Week is being held across the city from August 25-31, with athletes from across the motu battling it out for national and regional honours.

The event will feature competitions in football, skateboarding, wrestling, weightlifting, basketball (via regional tournaments), netball (UNISS), hockey (boys' Rankin Cup), athletics road relay, cycling Northern Tour, and lacrosse (boys and girls).

Tātaki Auckland Unlimited is supporting the event and is excited to see the energy and spirit of the tournament return to Auckland.
