Auckland has several precincts of fine contemporary dealer art galleries, with ever changing exhibitions of emerging, mid-career and established artists.
Each week we walk a different cluster of galleries. We are introduced to the gallery, gallerist, the exhibition and sometimes we are lucky to get to talk with an artist. We get all the extras of being with a guide the gallerists know and respect.
Returning several weeks later we find new exhibitions and therefore new experiences. ‘TJ’ Terry McNamara MNZM, one of New Zealand’s most well-known and knowledgeable art commentators, having written for NZ Herald for over 50 years, is the guide for the Auckland Saturday morning Walk & Talk an Art Precinct. He freely shares his extensive knowledge.
