Botany is without a doubt home to a crown jewel in the upmarket shopping scene. Pop into some shops or spend a whole day at Botany Town Centre, a massive shopping centre with entertainment to boot.  

Lace up your favourite shop-till-you-drop shoes to explore Botany Town Centre’s three different contemporary complexes. Peruse more than 200 stores that include major brands, fashion stores, homewares, electronics, specialty shops and department stores. Worry not, mall-wary folks. You'll find trees, benches and even a giant chess set in the thoughtfully designed space, plus a large cinema for those wanting to enjoy a blockbuster on the big screen.  

Feeling peckish? In keeping with its contemporary feel, you’ll be spoilt for choice with international cuisine, casual cafés and well-known restaurants dotted around the shopping centre. Craving bao buns, Brazilian BBQ or a hot bowl of ramen? This place has got you sorted. Don’t miss Goode Brothers for a Kiwi spin on Italian fare – it even has bottomless brunch.  

Burn off some energy over at Paradice, one of the few ice-skating rinks in Auckland where you can also play laser tag and mini golf. If ice-skating makes the knees feel wobbly, head to Zone Bowling for a round of ten-pin bowling, arcade games and even bumper cars.  

Situated at either end of Botany Town Centre are pockets of green ideal for a post-shopping stroll or bike ride. Wander along the gently footpaths at Logan Carr Park, entertain the kids at Kilkenny Playground or stroll all the way to Kilkenny Drive. 

Nature lovers should add Mangemangeroa Reserve to the top of their bucket list. This incredible gem has got it all: wild coastal bush, salt marsh habitat, farmland and an estuary. Take one of several different paths to discover a serene landscape that feels like a world away from the big city.
