Takarunga Mt Victoria
Nothing makes me smile like a gentle morning walk up a dormant volcano. I like to stroll up to the crater with a coffee in hand, gazing out over the city. It reminds me somewhat of home. Just less Finnish people and more skyscrapers.
The Civic
Stepping into The Civic is a bit like stepping into a time machine. But the kind of time machine that plays movies, theatre and comedy. I watched some stand-up. I enjoy laughing.
Matakana Cycle Trail
This bike trail made me feel alive. You can ride it straight through to the Matakana markets, which is why I have a baguette and flowers in this pic. Do I look cute?
Ada Restaurant
The food at Ada reminds me a lot of what I ate back home in Helsinki. Fresh, wholesome, locally inspired fodder. The menu is made up of traditional Māori ingredients. I highly recommend the Pork Hāngī Croquettes.
Karangahape Road
Karangahape Road is all the best bits of Helsinki’s main street, minus the frostbite.
