Pasifika Festival returns to Western Springs Park for a celebration of all things Pacific in 2026 on 14 and 15 March. 

The iconic festival’s 8 villages are set to showcase the best of the 11 Pacific Island nations with world-class traditional and contemporary performances, food and much more.

Transport & Parking 

The roads around Western Springs can get very busy during Pasifika Festival, so we strongly recommend planning your journey using public transport where possible.
 

Free Park & Ride available

Avoid the traffic and take advantage of our free Park & Ride service from Unitec Mt Albert (Gate 4, 154 Carrington Road) to Gate C at Western Springs. Shuttle buses run every 5–10 minutes during festival hours on both days.

The best way to get to Western Springs Lakeside Park during the Pasifika Festival is to use public transport or the free Park & Ride service where available. Roads around Western Springs in Auckland can become busy during large events, and parking is limited in the surrounding area.

Western Springs Lakeside Park is a favourite spot for locals to relax, walk the lake loop and see native wildlife. If you’re visiting during the Pasifika Festival, arrive early to explore the park before the crowds and enjoy views of the lake, historic buildings and nearby cultural attractions.

Accessibility Huarahi ngāwari

Western Springs Lakeside Park offers many paved pathways that make it easier for visitors using wheelchairs, mobility scooters or prams to get around. Please be aware that some areas of the park have naturally undulating ground, which may be more challenging to navigate. During the Pasifika Festival, accessible facilities, drop‑off points and designated viewing areas are clearly marked on the festival map. Accessible parking is also available on Ivanhoe Road and in the Caltex carpark for visitors with a valid mobility pass.

Pasifika Festival is one of the largest Pacific cultural festivals in the world, celebrating the cultures, languages and traditions of Pacific communities in Auckland.

Pasifika Festival takes place each year in March at Western Springs Lakeside Park in Auckland, bringing together Pacific communities through performances, food and cultural experiences.

Pasifika Festival is unique for its village concept, where each Pacific nation showcases its culture, traditions, performances and food in dedicated spaces across the festival.

Pasifika Festival features eight cultural villages representing Pacific communities: Cook Islands, Niue, Aotearoa, Samoa, Tuvalu, Fiji, Tonga, and Fale Pasifika, which celebrates the cultures of Kiribati, Tokelau, Hawai‘i and Tahiti.

Pasifika Festival performances include traditional Pacific dance, live music, cultural storytelling and contemporary Pacific artists performing across the festival stages.

Visitors can enjoy authentic Pacific cuisine across the festival villages, with dishes representing cultures from across the Pacific Islands.
