Country markets 

Head to the Matakana Village Farmers’ Market on Saturdays to pick up artisan cheeses, Italian meats, organic chocolate, homemade chutneys, craft beer and other gourmet goodies. On Sundays, the Clevedon Village Farmers’ Market serves up fresh produce, pastries and baking, and the popular Coatesville Country Market, held on the first Sunday of every month, has around 100 stalls selling food, art, jewellery, homewares and clothing.

City markets

If you’re staying in the central city, try the lively La Cigale French Market on at both Britomart and Parnell on Saturday and Sunday mornings. You’ll find handmade breads, olive oils, delectable meats, pastries, chocolates, condiments, cheeses and more – all with a distinctly French feel.
