The entranced, 2000-strong audience and book signing that went on late into the night at AWF25 proved us (happily) wrong.
“A magical night of all the feels”; “we died and went to heaven” and “wow, just wow” were only a handful of the comments from Festival-goers, as Trent shared his uplifting, inspiring and achingly honest take on love, literature and the small moments of life that become the big.

Make a night of it in the Aotea Arts Quarter. Aotea Square, Auckland Town Hall, Q Theatre and plenty of nearby dining options are all within a short walk of The Civic.
Getting there
Te huarahi ki reira
The Civic is on the corner of Queen and Wellesley Streets in the city centre. Te Waihorotiu Station is right nearby, making the train an easy option, while frequent bus services stop along Queen and Wellesley Streets.
