Running from 10am–2pm, FAM is a free, all-ages event celebrating the people, businesses and creative energy that make Karangahape Road one of Auckland’s most colourful neighbourhoods.
At the heart of FAM is a carefully curated selection of market stalls by CRUSHES, bringing together a mix of cool local makers, vintage, fashion, art, design and other finds. It’s the kind of market where you might come looking for one thing and leave with something completely unexpected.
And for the kids - and big kids - SMALL RAVE will be taking over with a very serious mission: building paper planes.
Families are invited to get involved in a giant paper-plane workshop, constructing and decorating their own planes before helping launch a six-metre-long paper plane into the sky. It’s creative, hands-on and completely free — and yes, there will be a very large plane.
Across Karangahape Road, visitors can also explore local shops, cafés, restaurants and bars, with Beresford Square providing a new hub for music, markets and community activity.
FAM is designed to be easy: bring the kids, bring your friends, wander the markets, grab something to eat, make a paper plane and spend a Saturday discovering what’s happening on K Road.
