The film follows Mahendra Singh Dhoni's journey from a railway ticket collector in Ranchi to captain of India's World Cup-winning cricket team.
Arrive early and make a night of it. From 5:30pm the Silky Otter courtyard hosts an opening celebration with live music, dance, henna artists and face painting, plus a red carpet and photo wall. The film starts at 8pm.
This is the first of a series of free Indian sports film screenings across Auckland through November, each matched to the sport being played in the city that week. Part of Auckland's Host City celebration of 100 Years of Unity Through Sport, brought to you by Tātaki Auckland Unlimited and Sport New Zealand, with Forum Films and Silky Otter Cinemas.

- Entry is free but registration is essential. Seats are first in, first served, with a limit of 4 per registration.
- Show your ticket on your phone at the door.
- Unclaimed seats are released to walk-ups from 7:50pm.
- Runtime approx. 3 hours. Hindi with English subtitles. Classification to be confirmed.
- Free parking at Takanini Town Centre for up to 3 hours, extendable to 5 hours via the QR code in the Silky Otter foyer.
- Indian street food is available to buy from local Takanini Town Centre eateries. The cinema candy bar is open.
