Akitō is the new plant-focused eatery enticing us to Waiheke Island. Akito is not strictly a vegan or a vegetarian eatery, they are simply a place that loves to highlight ‘plant food’, and showcase the creativity and flavour that can be obtained from the humble veg.

But if you’re someone who can’t do without your eggs and bacon, then they have options for you too. Just try their Halloumi cakes with a side of Aoraki hot smoked salmon. It is well worth the trip!
