2028 Women's ILCA 6 and Men's 7 World Championship

New Zealand will host an Olympic-class sailing world championship for the first time in almost a decade when Auckland stages the ILCA 6 World Championship and ILCA 7 World Championship in early 2028.

Takapuna Boating Club on Auckland’s North Shore will host the men’s ILCA 7 World Championship from 29 January to 5 February 2028, followed by the women’s ILCA 6 event from 11 to 18 February 2028, with both regattas expected to play a key role in preparation and selection ahead of the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles later that year.
