The Basque Park Summer Series returns with a relaxed, family-friendly event bringing together local musicians, artists, makers and the community for a fun day outdoors.

Bring a picnic rug, gather your friends and whānau and enjoy a great day out in one of Auckland's lovely urban parks.

Live Music & Entertainment

Enjoy a lively mix of music, dance and performance throughout the day.

11am – Eliette's Emerging Performers: Talented young musicians kick off the day.

12pm – Zumba with Clau: Join a fun, inclusive dance session. Everyone is welcome and no experience is needed.

1pm – Fathe and the Sweetos: Get moving to an energetic mix of afrobeat, disco, funk and traditional Ethiopian rhythms.

2pm – DJ Bevan Keys: Auckland DJ (and one half of Nice 'n' Urlich) brings the summer dance-floor vibes to the park.

Free Creative Workshops & Kids' Activities | 11am–3pm

There's plenty to keep the kids entertained, with hands-on activities for all ages.

EcoMatters Bike Hub: Make colourful handlebar streamers, decorate your bike or helmet and get cycling tips.

Paper Bird Workshop with Sophie Watson: Create your own papercraft bird for the Christmas tree, cards or decorations.

Get Krafty This Christmas: Design your own Kiwi summer Christmas wrapping paper and gift cards with art tutor Jared.

Mini Onigiri Making with OKOME Catering: Try your hand at making Japanese rice balls.

Plus, enjoy spectacular giant bubbles from Tinka Giant Bubbles, face painting by Faces for Fun and surprise roving performers from Rainbow Kids Parties.

Christmas Market & Food Trucks

Browse a Christmas market showcasing local Auckland businesses, artists and makers. Discover unique gifts, support local creatives and get a head start on your Christmas shopping.

There'll also be lots of tasty food truck options, so grab some lunch, find a shady spot and settle in for the afternoon.

Free Community Wellness Sessions | From 10.15am

Start your weekend with a little time for yourself.

Join Kenko Studio and Yanzi Wellness for relaxed group sessions featuring gentle movement, breathwork and gratitude under the trees at Basque Park.

All welcome, with no experience necessary.

Getting There

Basque Park is easy to reach by public transport.

Take the train to Maungawhau Station, then enjoy a short five-minute walk via Ruru Street and Exmouth Street to the park.

Bus services along New North Road, Newton Road and Symonds Street also provide convenient access. Check the AT Journey Planner for the best route.

After enjoying the festivities, explore the cafés, bars and restaurants around Uptown. From casual family dining to leafy courtyards and local favourites, there are plenty of places to continue your summer afternoon.
