Formed in London 2012, Bear’s Den have carved out a global reputation and devoted following for over a decade. Their debut album Islands was certified gold, with the hit single ‘Above The Clouds of Pompeii’ nominated for the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song musically and lyrically. Since then, they’ve created four critically acclaimed studio albums, a collaborative project with screenwriter Paul Frith and a soundtrack album to Season 3 of Apple TV Series Trying.
Their emotive story telling and cinematic sound has made up a catalogue that translates into film and onto live stages, taking them to some of the world’s biggest arenas and festivals, including Reading and Leeds, Glastonbury Festival, Pukkelpop, Lowlands and Bonnaroo.
Consisting of founding member Andrew Davie on vocals and guitar, Christof van der Ven (banjo, guitar, vocals), Marcus Hamblett (synths, horns), and Jools Owen (drums, horns), the band have been on the road celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Islands for the past year and they’re now set to bring it all to New Zealand for the first time.
