Guardian Singles
Since 2015 Guardian Singles’ hectic, visceral music and pummeling live shows have earned them a reputation, one that always keeps you guessing. Guardian Singles is Thom Burton (SoccerPractise, Wilberforces) Durham Fenwick (Dimmer, Green Grove) Nat Bristow (Noxo, Clock Cleaner) and Fiona Campbell (Vivian Girls/Chain and the Gang/Coolies).
Over two full length albums they present an amalgam of early-80s influences (think Husker Du jamming with Wire at a Flying Nun tribute night) with touches of industrial, shoegaze, and motorik in places. Find both records on Chicago based label Trouble in Mind, and look out for a third record due out at the end of 2026.
Clementine
Clementine is an emo band from Aotearoa, fronted by Liam Hansen on guitar and Hiri Eketone on bass. After their loud and screamy full band sets across Tāmaki Makaurau in 2025, they're returning as a duo with some cheap hardware synthesizers and a dream.
