Season 2 of emerging Pasifika Writers - fresh from an 8-week series of workshops (Nga Tohu 101), and now they're ready to unleash their works onto the world - well, South Auckland for now ... but it's a start!
Get ready for an eclectic theatre showcase where absolutely nothing goes to plan… in the best way possible.
In this ONE NIGHT ONLY event - you'll join three happy-go-lucky prison guards on the night shift who 'swear' they’re not scared … until the entire system crashes and suddenly they're faced with the unknown, the unseen, and the unfortunate truth that none of them ever read the emergency manual.
Meanwhile, Mia is stuck reliving the 'same moment' on loop. Is it character growth? Cosmic punishment? Or just what happens when you ignore your subconscious for too long? Either way, the universe is 'not' letting her skip this lesson.
Then there’s Kilisimasi, who’s just trying to make a little side cash off some premium Tapaka - only to accidentally summon the “Tongan Mafia", or just a group of very committed cousins with matching sunglasses and zero chill.
And of course, The Tuck Shop Boys (Remi, Benji & Vita) take us all the way back to school - where the lunch line is long, the friendships are loyal, and “There’s no Chardonnay, she’s a Jess.” Think BOY, but with musical interludes and the faint smell of pies and Coke Zero.
Just a taste of what’s in store for a night packed with laughs, thrills, and maybe even a tear (the good kind, don’t panic). A platform to celebrate 7 emerging writers from the Ngā Tohu 101 Writer's Workshops, and the actors who will bring their worlds to life.
LAST YEAR SOLD OUT! Don’t be that person with FOMO this year.
Get your tickets. Bring your mates. Lessssgo.
The night will involve some feedback elements - plus we will have some food trucks onsite so come early/stay later and enjoy some food - make a night of it! Summer Vibes all round.
