Round the Bays 2026

Join Auckland’s biggest street party with a course filled with entertainment as you move and groove and walk, jog, run or roll from Quay Street in the city to St Heliers along Tāmaki Drive. At the finish line, collect your well-deserved finisher's medal, a cool drink and enjoy the after-party.

Auckland Joggers Club (AJC) President, Eric Woods, and Auckland's Mayor and AJC founding member, Colin Kay, started the event in 1972 with over 700 participating in the 'fun run'. The Auckland Joggers Club is dedicated to promoting fitness and fostering friendships across generations. They provide programmes for those who want to start running - their beginners programme was originally created to help those who wanted to participate in the Round the Bays fun run, and support those who just want to get better and running or want to keep healthy.

Since then the core bones have not changed. The joint partnership between the Auckland Joggers Club and Stuff Events still drives Round the Bays Auckland forward.
