Beneath the surface of each body are histories, shocks and connections that have never fully disappeared. The work gathers around the body as an archive: a living field of memory, protection and response. It moves through the ache of knowing but not having, the intelligence of survival, and the ways a body keeps the shape of what once held it. Created through SomaTactics, Body Island's choreographic practice of touch, pressure and relational response, this work goes deeper into the inner world of Mythosoma, co-commissioned by Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts and YIRRAMBOI. “Imperfect, reverent, and poignant.” — Helen Balfour, Theatreview “The therapeutic power of Mythosoma is palpable.” — Zac Fitzgibbon, Regional News “A bold yet sensitive traverse across traumas, tremors and the healing of the human spirit.”
