We‘re celebrating the festive season by transforming Aotea Square into a FREE vibrant, hot spot perfect for all ages. Kick back, enjoy the tunes, sunshine, and get amongst all the Christmas cheer.
Every Thursday and Friday, catch evening sets from some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s hottest artists including Holly Arrowsmith, Lou’ana, Romi Wrights, Island Vibes, Sabreen, Zoe Moon, Moana Rising, MOHI, Jordyn with a Why, Ella Monnery and Paige. Have a laugh with comedians Courtney Dawson and Janaye Henry or try out those cowboy boots and boogie into the night at our line-dancing class.
On the weekend, take a break from your Christmas shopping and sing your heart out with Christmas Karaoke, learn some new tunes on the ukulele, unleash your creativity at a live speed painting showdown, be a part of the first Aotearoa Festival of Black Art at NYEGE: A Festive Wellness Carnival, show off your best K-pop dance moves, learn some new circus moves with The Dust Palace, experience GALS Choir or grab your FREE popcorn and enjoy a screening of the Christmas film Arthur Christmas on our giant outdoor cinema.
Throughout the month, enjoy a game of Connect Four, let your kids' curiosity go wild with the Imagination Playground, unwind in a beanbag or deck chair, and tuck into some treats from The Terrace or the Container in the Square.
Grab your sunnies, bring the whānau, and join us under The Christmas Pavilion and in front of The Neon Star – both created by Angus Muir Design. Christmas in Aotea Square is the place to be!
