At the top of Franklin Road in Ponsonby, Blue is a new all-day café and wine bar that feels like home. Owned by Joe Dale-Dickson, Katie Riley, and Ophelia and Karl Bayly, it blends comfort, style, and community.

By day, it’s a breezy café serving egg buns on house-baked brioche and Scandi-inspired breakfasts; by night, it transforms into a relaxed wine bar offering Kiwi onion dip, terrine with rye, and seasonal bites.

Designed by Sam Boanas, the space features bright timber floors, exposed brick, and handcrafted pottery. With its warm, lived-in feel and focus on genuine connection, Blue is Ponsonby’s latest local favourite.
