Less than an hour’s drive from Auckland a haven of art, food, wine and gardens awaits. Carefully curated to amuse, inspire and delight, works of art fill gardens and galleries bursting with colour and creativity. Pieces from around the world including Picasso, Chagall, Rodin, Chihuly and Cezanne create an art experience unlike any other in New Zealand.

Three sculpture gardens extend over 1.4km of flat paths with sculptures, reflective quotes, statement trees and colourful plantings that change with the seasons.

To break up your visit there are multiple dining options on site, including Rothko Restaurant, Freddie's Outdoor, or The Terrace Lawn Bar, which all offer Sculptureum's own wine which is grown on site.

Getting there Te huarahi ki reira

It takes around an hour to drive from the city to Matakana on State Highway 1. Be prepared – the village market makes Saturday one of the busiest days to travel, especially in late morning.
