Some of the biggest international names have dazzled at Spark Arena, the largest indoor venue in Aotearoa. Conveniently wedged between Parnell and the city centre, Spark Arena is the local darling for big-ticket events, musicals, sports and international tours. Since opening in 2007, household names including Beyonce, Metallica, Michael Bublé and Lorde have performed beneath its spectacular spotlights.

With great sound and dazzling lights, what’s not to like? Boogie to live music in the impressive 12,000-seat bowl or enjoy live spectacles from troupes like Cirque du Soleil. Into sports? Watch your favourite athletes race against the scoreboard from sports including netball, basketball, boxing and ice hockey – the New Zealand Silver Ferns are fantastic to watch live. 

Grab some hot food or a cold beer between sets, with grab-and-go stations dotted around on the upper and lower level.

Spark Arena is 10-15 minutes by foot to the city centre and Britomart Station, which is on all major bus routes.

Taxis and rideshares can be hard to come by directly after an event. If not using public transport, book your ride in advance and choose a pickup spot a few blocks away from the arena.
