From the swinging ‘60s to the 8th century China, this evening event takes you on a whirlwind journey through history, brought to life with interactive theatre, games, and hands-on activities.
Meet a cast of colourful characters including Trog and Snag, the Hunter Gatherers, who will show you how to hunt, forage and survive in the wild. Get down with Boogie Benny and learn the groovy dance moves of the 60s, including the Twist and Mashed Potato. Play traditional Māori games and navigate the Pacific with Folau, using the stars, currents and even birds to find your way.

Getting there

You can take public transportation, drive and park in the museum's parking lot, or even walk or cycle if you're in the central Auckland area. The museum is located in the beautiful Auckland Domain, and once you arrive, you can enter through the main entrance on the east side of the building.
