It is a must-see attraction with world-class Māori and Pacific collections, significant natural history resources, and major social and military history collections. Auckland Museum also serves as a war memorial for the province of Auckland and houses one of New Zealand's top three heritage libraries. The Museum hosts a wide range of exhibitions, installations, presentations, programmes, and events.
Auckland Musuem presents an acclaimed Māori Cultural Experience twice daily. This is not to be missed by those seeking a genuine insight into Māori culture. Available daily at 11am and 1.30pm ($35 per adult, $17.50 per child 5 – 15, under 5 free). Visitors can also take part in a guided tour to see everything the Museum has to offer. We recommend the Gallery Highlights Tour, which is the perfect introduction to the Museum and its wonderful collections. Available daily at 10.45am and 12.45pm ($20 per adult, $10 per child, and free under 5).
After your tour, enjoy some late lunch or drinks at Tuitui Museum Bistro & Café and browse the Hokohoko Museum Store. Complete your experience by staying to watch the sun set over the Auckland Domain.
