Our theme this year is ko au te taiao (I am the environment). Celebrate our environment, celebrate you!
Enjoy performances and workshops with Suzy Cato, Buzz from Toi Time, Auckland Philharmonia, Siva Afi performers, Atamira Dance Company and more.
Get hands-on and explore our environment at interactive making stations throughout the Gallery. Come along, get creative and enjoy a day of discovery with the whānau.
What to expect

10:30am, 12:30pm and 2pm: Experience siva afi, a Samoan form of fire dancing

10:30am, 12pm and 1pm: Have a go at sketching with live figure drawing sessions

10:30am and 12pm: Explore our Taimoana exhibition through movement with Atamira Dance Company

11am and 1pm: Suzy Cato brings us a special story time and musical performance

All day: Play activities for the whole whānau. Strike a pose in our photobooth, sketch yourself into our pop-up Paris café, and more

All day: Grab a treat from Ice Cream Social or the Gallery café

Visit outside weekend and school-holiday mornings for a quieter experience, or head along during relaxed hours on most Tuesdays from 3pm to 5pm.
Getting there
Te huarahi ki reira
Auckland Art Gallery is on the corner of Kitchener and Wellesley Streets in the city centre. Te Waihorotiu Station is around a 5-minute walk away, while Waitematā Station and the ferry terminal are around a 15-minute walk. The OuterLink also stops nearby on Wellesley Street East.
