Tamariki Time (Relaxed Concert)
Sat, 22 Aug , 11:30am - 12:15pm
Concert Chamber, Auckland Town Hall
The Tamariki Time ‘Relaxed’ Concert is a free concert designed with neurodivergent children and their families in mind - and open to anyone who would prefer a more relaxed concert experience.
Made for tamariki aged 3-7, it features a wide variety of music where tamariki can join in with actions or simply sit back and enjoy. There will also be a musical story told by concert host, Animateur Chris Lam Sam, alongside the NZSO's players of the future - the National Youth Orchestra.
There's a relaxed attitude to noise and movement throughout the performance, minimal lighting effects, and a chill-out space available if you need a moment away. We also invite audiences to use NZ Sign Language applause in place of traditional clapping.
Before the concert, you'll receive a guide with everything you can expect on the day. These concerts have been designed in partnership with Autism NZ.
