First Mates, Last Laugh

Nestled along the waterfront at Westhaven Marina, First Mates, Last Laugh brings a fresh and flavourful take on harbourside dining in Auckland. Created by renowned restaurateur Judith Tabron, this relaxed yet stylish restaurant is a welcoming spot to gather with friends, enjoy good food and soak up the atmosphere of one of Auckland’s most picturesque waterfront locations.

The menu draws inspiration from South American and Japanese flavours, celebrating fresh New Zealand produce with a creative coastal twist. Expect beautifully prepared seafood, fresh sashimi, vibrant sharing plates and dishes designed to be enjoyed together. Pair your meal with a refreshing cocktail or a glass of wine, and settle in for an experience that makes the most of its marina setting.

With its sun-soaked courtyard, inviting interiors and views across the boats at Westhaven, First Mates, Last Laugh offers a little something for every occasion. Whether you're catching up over a leisurely weekend lunch, meeting friends for sunset drinks or enjoying a relaxed dinner by the water, it's a place that invites you to stay a little longer.

Just a short distance from Auckland's city centre, First Mates, Last Laugh is a great addition to any waterfront outing, combining delicious food, warm hospitality and a laid-back maritime atmosphere.
