Fish Canopy

Standing at the heart of Ōtara Town Centre, the Fish Canopy is one of South Auckland’s most recognisable public artworks. Designed by influential architect Rewi Thompson, the large fish-shaped structure reflects the strong Māori and Pacific identity of the local community, drawing inspiration from traditional forms and cultural storytelling.
