Surrounded by glass at the start of the world famous viaduct harbour and marina, Koel provides something of a refuge from the outside hustle and bustle. Great for a business meeting, a casual catch up with a friend, or some people watching from our coffee bar by the window!

Situated within the new lobby development at The Maritime Museum, Koel was opened just in time for the America’s Cup 2021.

Our team are dedicated to providing our customers the absolute best in coffee and fresh food each and every day of the year. Stop in for a quick bit and enjoy the world class surrounds of New Zealand’s entertainment capital.

We open weekdays from 8AM and weekends from 9AM. We open everyday except Christmas Day. Our coffee partner is Kokako and herbal teas are from Forage and Bloom - both local providers at the top of their games.

Easy access from the city centre along Quay St, or from Wynyard Quarter across the cantilever bridge.

Koel is extremely popular in the summer. Grab a bite to eat here and then look at board a charter boat to go out into the beautiful Waitematā harbour and see the city from sea level.

Accessibility Huarahi ngāwari

Wheelchair accessible with wide entrances and flat surfaces. As with all of the Viaduct locations there is parking nearby on Customs Street West or in the Downtown Carpark.
