SkyCity Theatre

Bop on down from the waterfront or Queen Street to enjoy some razzle-dazzle at the SkyCity Theatre. With eateries like Masu, Cassia and Depot perched on Federal Street, dinner and a show has never been so easy. The 700-seat theatre is one of numerous attractions within the “city within a city”, which also includes a casino, two hotels and skyscraping eateries. That's the beauty of the SkyCity precinct – panoramic views and cool bars are mere steps away.  

The SkyCity Theatre is one of the city’s few mid-sized performing arts theatres, which has staged musicals, concerts, dance, local acts and large-scale international productions since 1996. Over the years it has hosted many notable shows, including Wicked, Grease, the NZ International Comedy Festival and the NZ International Film Festival. Grab some drinks and nibbles in the foyer bar or keep the night going long after the show. There are several popular bars in the area – think sky high vibes at SkyBar or open-air ambience at The Glass Goose.
