Music in Parks takes up its new residence at East Hub (Lloyd Elsmore Park) for four nights of free music.

Line-up: Jo Kaptein, Musika Collective
A prodigious jazz pianist, keyboardist, and multi-instrumentalist, Joe Kaptein brings unmatched musicality that’s equal parts finesse and fire. He’s a true musical weapon whose artistry elevates everyone around him.
Also performing is the Musika Collective, a vibrant youth music group led by Polynesian musician Opeloge Ah Sam. The collective blends professional performance with an educational environment. Its current members boast a successful history as Stand Up Stand Out entrants and semi-finalists over the years.

Line-up: Rā Charmian, Swizl Jager
Backed by some of Aotearoa's finest musicians, Rā Charmian delivers a vibrant mix of original songs and Māori waiata. Her album, Waiata Wairua, has been widely celebrated across Aotearoa and every show is a celebration of music and fun.
Also taking the stage is Swizl Jager, a reo rua (bilingual) rapper known for his modern flow, cheeky Māori humour, and energetic live shows. His sound, influenced by a metal background, has seen his music featured in several TV shows and films, setting him apart in the hip-hop scene.

Sam V is one of the most-watched talents to emerge from the Pacific. The multi-award-winning Best Pacific R&B/Soul Artist has established himself as the poster boy for this generation of Aotearoa and Pacific R&B with his mesmerising vocal chops and signature charisma.
Known for her evocative and intimate sound steeped in emotional honesty, singer-songwriter alayna released her debut album in 2023, and continues to grow a global community anchored in honesty and strength.

Music in Parks proudly concludes our free music events in East Auckland with an evening dedicated to celebrating the best of Pasifika music, in partnership with the beloved Pacific Music Awards.
This is your chance to catch some of last year's nominees and winners across a vibrant mix of genres, including funk, pop, and rock, all intrinsically linked to the Pacific. Since 2005, the annual Pacific Music Awards have celebrated excellence in Pacific music in New Zealand, honouring musicians from the Cook Islands, Fiji, Niue, Samoa, Tonga, Tokelau, and Tuvalu.
