About Maamaloa Brass Band A.K.A MBB & Chamber Choir
Maamaloa Brass Band A.K.A MBB is a Tongan community band based in Auckland. It was established in 2021 under the Tupou College Aotearoa Ex-student Organisation Society, and are a non-profit organisation. They have performed in events such as the Pasifika Festival, Aoniu Festival, Tonga day, Mega Vax Pasifika at Mt Smart Stadium, church functions, Auckland Community Xmas tour and more. MBB is made up 50+ professional musicians under Music Director Kalino Pongi.
A Chamber Choir has been established where they are able to expand their brass sound with vocal harmonies, which was debuted at the Musika Moana Choir Competition in September 2024.
