Kapa Haka Performance

Before Matariki begins, kapa haka performers from Manurewa’s Te Haikura a Kiwa return to Takutai Square to perform waiata, marking the arrival of the Māori New Year.

Guests can enjoy free hot chocolate from Miann and pastries from Amano alongside the performance, while taking in Mangōpare, the light installation by Arama Tamariki-Enua in collaboration with Angus Muir and Catherine Ellis, accompanied by a soundscape by Peter Hobbs.
